Black History Month

“The Journey for NIA” is the story of a young girl that travels back to the land of her ancestors to find her ‘NIA” (Purpose) and encounters a variety of characters along the way. The Journey of NIA is a passionate display of African roots, stories and the legacy of these cultures in our lives today. This theatrical assembly incorporates music, dance, and interactive segments, delivering an inspirational message that will impact your students for weeks after, empowering students to create their own histories, and inspiring them to look within to find their own NIA.

We are grateful for the funding we received from the Ontario Arts Council to facilitate arts based workshops as part of our program. The P.E.A.C.E. & POR AMOR team facilitated sessions in creative expression through hip hop and poetry, African and Caribbean dance and beat boxing to continue sharing the important message of UNITY, CREATIVITY, and finding your NIA (Purpose).
